Welcome to Flourish Lab

This is a space for people who prepare, support, and grow other educators, teacher educators, counselor educators, administrators, coaches, and beyond, to do the thing we keep asking our students to do: play, wonder, and take a real risk in front of others.

Flourish Lab grew out of a simple idea: the conditions we want future educators to create for their own students (curiosity, safety to fail, room to wonder) are conditions we rarely get to experience ourselves in our professional lives. This is a chance to experience them first, before we ask anyone else to.

How it works

Over the next several months, we're inviting you to explore the eight Playful Intentions at your own pace:

Each one is an invitation, not an assignment. Try one, try all eight, try them out of order. There's no required sequence and no grade at the end.

What comes next

After this open play period, we'll put out a formal call for chapter proposals. If something you tried here sparks an idea worth writing about, we'd love to see a short synopsis. You don't need to have that idea yet. That's what this period is for.
